Key Responsibilities
- Manage the design of mechanical projects with construction values up to $10 million
- Assign tasks to and coordinate with entry-level/staff engineers, technicians, and administrative staff
- Assist in determining technical, schedule, and budget (staffing/manhours) requirements
- Interface and coordinate with architects and other disciplines throughout the project
- Perform basic code reviews
- Attend meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and conduct site visits and field inspections of mechanical and HVAC systems
- Prepare mechanical and HVAC engineering analysis, calculations, reports, construction drawings, and specifications
- Serve as Project Manager on small projects
- Perform mechanical/HVAC engineering design (boiler and chiller plants, larger-scale HVAC systems), including BIM production in Revit MEP/AutoCAD, HVAC load calculations and energy modeling (Trane Trace 3D), specification writing, equipment selection, and shop drawing/submittal reviews
Key Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- NYS Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum 5 years of MEP project experience, with a focus on mechanical and HVAC system design
- Experience designing mechanical and HVAC systems and producing design documents in Revit MEP and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience running HVAC loads and energy modeling in Trane Trace 3D preferred
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a valid driver's license
