Key Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical systems including HVAC, heating, cooling, heat rejection, plumbing, air and water distribution, and ventilation systems
  • Perform system design calculations, load calculations, and energy modeling
  • Select mechanical equipment for healthcare, hospital, laboratory, and pharmaceutical facilities
  • Prepare mechanical construction documents detailing designed systems
  • Coordinate designs with architects and engineers from other disciplines
  • Ensure designs align with project vision, quality standards, and schedules
  • Attend meetings and communicate effectively with clients to define needs and review design solutions

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 7–10 years of experience designing HVAC systems for healthcare, hospital, laboratory, and pharmaceutical projects
  • Consulting experience with AE or MEP engineering firms
  • Strong project experience in Life Sciences, Science & Technology, Healthcare, and Laboratory facilities
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience is a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of ASHRAE standards and applicable building codes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred but not required
