Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical systems including HVAC, heating, cooling, heat rejection, plumbing, air and water distribution, and ventilation systems
- Perform system design calculations, load calculations, and energy modeling
- Select mechanical equipment for healthcare, hospital, laboratory, and pharmaceutical facilities
- Prepare mechanical construction documents detailing designed systems
- Coordinate designs with architects and engineers from other disciplines
- Ensure designs align with project vision, quality standards, and schedules
- Attend meetings and communicate effectively with clients to define needs and review design solutions
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 7–10 years of experience designing HVAC systems for healthcare, hospital, laboratory, and pharmaceutical projects
- Consulting experience with AE or MEP engineering firms
- Strong project experience in Life Sciences, Science & Technology, Healthcare, and Laboratory facilities
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience is a plus
- Strong working knowledge of ASHRAE standards and applicable building codes
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred but not required
