Key Responsibilities
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations using industry-standard software tools
- Conduct field surveys to document existing conditions
- Select and size HVAC, plumbing, and controls equipment
- Develop HVAC sequences of operation
- Prepare design drawings, specifications, and construction document packages
- Develop project cost estimates
- Perform CAD drafting and modeling
- Coordinate with equipment vendors for selections, cutsheets, and quotes
- Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and as-builts
- Conduct punch list and construction administration site surveys
- Support additional engineering tasks as needed
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program
- 7–10 years of HVAC design experience in building projects
- New York State PE license preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of NYC/NYS building, mechanical, and plumbing codes
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and project management skills
