Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design efforts for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for low- to moderate-complexity projects; support senior staff on larger projects
  • Perform engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight
  • Develop detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to codes and firm standards
  • Interact with clients to gather requirements, communicate technical information, and build relationships
  • Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines
  • Document design decisions and monitor project progress relative to scope, schedule, and budget
  • Provide in-process design reviews and ensure quality control standards are met
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers
  • Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phases
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in building design consulting, 6 preferred
  • Strong technical skills in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics
  • Proficiency with BIM software, HVAC load calculation tools, AutoCAD, and MS Office
  • Strong mentoring, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to travel up to 15% within project requirements
