Key Responsibilities
- Lead design efforts for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for low- to moderate-complexity projects; support senior staff on larger projects
- Perform engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight
- Develop detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to codes and firm standards
- Interact with clients to gather requirements, communicate technical information, and build relationships
- Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines
- Document design decisions and monitor project progress relative to scope, schedule, and budget
- Provide in-process design reviews and ensure quality control standards are met
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers
- Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phases
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in building design consulting, 6 preferred
- Strong technical skills in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics
- Proficiency with BIM software, HVAC load calculation tools, AutoCAD, and MS Office
- Strong mentoring, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to travel up to 15% within project requirements
