Key Responsibilities
- Project Development & Client Engagement
- Scope projects and prepare proposals.
- Serve as lead electrical engineer on multi-discipline projects from proposal through construction.
- Build and maintain client relationships across the healthcare sector.
- Act as project manager for building engineering-led projects.
- Electrical Engineering & Design
- Develop electrical designs including single-line diagrams, electrical room layouts, panel sizing, and building systems.
- Perform load calculations for generators, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, panel boards, feeders, and branch circuits.
- Prepare electrical design drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with national, state, and local codes, including FGI guidelines and DOH requirements.
- Conduct building condition assessments and provide technical reports.
- Team Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with mechanical, structural, civil engineers, and architects.
- Mentor and train junior engineers; delegate and review project tasks.
- Represent the firm with clients, contractors, and permitting authorities.
- Technical Expertise & Innovation
- Serve as Engineer-of-Record on assigned projects.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Provide technical solutions through close engagement with manufacturers and contractors.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (NY or OH) strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience with an A/E consulting firm.
- Proven expertise in power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, and telecommunications design.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, AGi32, SKM, and Arc-Flash evaluation.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver quality outcomes.
