Senior Electrical Engineer – Buildings

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering for multi-discipline projects from proposal through construction.
• Complete electrical designs, including single-line diagrams, panel sizing, electrical room layouts, lighting, and building systems.
• Perform load calculations for generators, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, feeders, and branch circuits.
• Prepare electrical design drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Review drawings, conduct code compliance checks, and ensure adherence to national, state, and local regulations.
• Research, develop, and present coordinated design solutions.
• Conduct field investigations and building condition assessments.
• Serve as Engineer-of-Record and internal technical design expert on assigned projects.
• Mentor junior engineers, delegate project tasks, and provide leadership in staff development.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, permitting authorities, and industry organizations.
• Manage projects as both lead engineer and project manager for building engineering-led efforts.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• EIT certification required; New York State P.E. license preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with an A/E consulting firm.
• Proven experience with power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, and telecom system design.
• Familiarity with AGi32 (lighting), SKM (power analysis), and Arc-Flash evaluation.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
