Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering for multi-discipline projects from proposal through construction.
- Complete electrical designs, including single-line diagrams, panel sizing, electrical room layouts, lighting, and building systems.
- Perform load calculations for generators, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, feeders, and branch circuits.
- Prepare electrical design drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Review drawings, conduct code compliance checks, and ensure adherence to national, state, and local regulations.
- Research, develop, and present coordinated design solutions.
- Conduct field investigations and building condition assessments.
- Serve as Engineer-of-Record and internal technical design expert on assigned projects.
- Mentor junior engineers, delegate project tasks, and provide leadership in staff development.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, permitting authorities, and industry organizations.
- Manage projects as both lead engineer and project manager for building engineering-led efforts.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
- New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 15+ years of experience with an A/E consulting firm.
- Proven experience with power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, and telecom system design.
- Familiarity with AGi32 (lighting), SKM (power analysis), and Arc-Flash evaluation.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
