Key Responsibilities
- Lead development, refinement, and enforcement of firmwide electrical design standards, specifications, and QA/QC protocols
- Drive electrical system strategy, load analysis, lighting control design, and distribution architecture on the firm's most complex projects
- Author electrical specifications, panel schedules, and sequences of operation independently
- Provide technical oversight and strategic intervention on intricate, interdisciplinary projects
- Mentor senior designers and engineers through structured redlines and peer review
- Support early-phase strategy, fee negotiations, and project scoping with senior technical insight
- Ensure electrical systems are integrated, buildable, and aligned with budget, client goals, and MEP coordination
- Represent the firm at industry panels, peer forums, and technical presentations
- Collaborate with architecture and engineering leadership to align design direction across trades
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering; PE license highly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive electrical system design experience, including large-scale and interdisciplinary projects
- Mastery of electrical fundamentals, distribution design, power system analysis, lighting controls, and system integration across building types
- Expert-level fluency in electrical codes, energy standards, and constructability practices
- Experience leading QA/QC initiatives and firmwide standards development
- Demonstrated mentorship of senior designers and engineers
