Lead Electrical Designer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical system design including power distribution, lighting, emergency/standby power, and advanced electrical rooms.
• Supervise, mentor, and review project team deliverables to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality.
• Perform calculations, system sizing, layouts, and specifications for high-performance projects.
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical/plumbing engineers, and contractors to ensure fully integrated designs.
• Manage construction administration: review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, conduct field surveys, and prepare reports.
• Represent the firm in client-facing meetings, ensuring projects meet scope, budget, and schedule.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (PE license strongly preferred).
• 6+ years of progressive design experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NYC Building Codes, and applicable industry standards.
• Skilled in AutoCAD and Revit; experience managing BIM workflows.
• Proven leadership skills with ability to manage complex projects and mentor junior staff.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities; polished client-facing presence.
