Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager- Healthcare Design

AGILE’s Client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager with healthcare design experience to join their New York City team. This role provides the opportunity to lead complex mechanical projects in hospitals, laboratories, high-rise residential, commercial, and institutional facilities. It’s an ideal position for an engineer ready to take on leadership, manage project delivery, and collaborate with architects, owners, and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex mechanical building design for healthcare and other large-scale projects
  • Manage project design including studies, reports, development, project management, and field implementation
  • Incorporate design changes using AutoCAD and/or Revit software
  • Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system design
  • Prepare documentation for LEED and other building rating system compliance
  • Draft basis-of-design descriptions and respond to client comments
  • Attend meetings with architects, owners, and building managers
  • Review submittals and respond to RFIs
  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and internal QA/QC procedures
  • Maintain ongoing professional development and technical knowledge
  • Work safely and report safety concerns
  • Perform additional duties as require

Key Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • 4–7 years of experience in HVAC design for healthcare and commercial facilities
  • Proficiency in Trace 700, AutoCAD, and Revit software
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent technical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of code requirements and healthcare compliance standards
  • Project and client relationship management experience
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • PE license preferred; EIT with ability to obtain PE within 1–2 years
  • Willingness and ability to travel
