Key Responsibilities

  • Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunications systems including associated circuitry, details, one-line diagrams, and specifications
  • Perform system design calculations including load, arc flash, fault current, and lighting
  • Prepare construction documents including drawings, specifications, and reports for laboratories, infrastructure upgrades, and commercial buildings
  • Ensure design aligns with overall project vision and maintain design schedules
  • Collaborate with clients, owners, architects, and contractors on design solutions
  • Select and specify appropriate electrical equipment
  • Attend meetings to establish client needs and resolve design issues

Key Qualifications

  • 7–10 years professional experience in Electrical Systems design for life sciences, science & technology, labs, infrastructure upgrades, or commercial projects within AE or MEP consulting firms
  • Strong AutoCAD skills; Revit experience is a plus
  • PE license preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and International Building Codes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects to meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
