Key Responsibilities
- Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunications systems including associated circuitry, details, one-line diagrams, and specifications
- Perform system design calculations including load, arc flash, fault current, and lighting
- Prepare construction documents including drawings, specifications, and reports for laboratories, infrastructure upgrades, and commercial buildings
- Ensure design aligns with overall project vision and maintain design schedules
- Collaborate with clients, owners, architects, and contractors on design solutions
- Select and specify appropriate electrical equipment
- Attend meetings to establish client needs and resolve design issues
Key Qualifications
- 7–10 years professional experience in Electrical Systems design for life sciences, science & technology, labs, infrastructure upgrades, or commercial projects within AE or MEP consulting firms
- Strong AutoCAD skills; Revit experience is a plus
- PE license preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of NEC and International Building Codes
- Ability to manage multiple projects to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
