Senior Electrical Designer

Key Responsibilities

• Create complete, high-quality trade-specific electrical schematics and layouts based on company design standards
• Perform project functions including surveys, load calculations, voltage drop calculations, equipment selection, and layouts
• Independently design electrical systems using company standards and templates, with minimal supervision
• Support development of more advanced electrical room and system designs, and selection of specialized equipment
• Perform building energy ComCheck lighting calculations
• Enter utility service requests based on project load calculations
• Review shop drawings and compare field installations against project specifications
• Perform field observations and prepare related reports as part of construction administration
• With guidance, generate specifications based on company standard templates
• Serve in a lead Job Captain capacity — coordinating project deliverables, quality control, and issuance with the project team
• Mentor and train junior designers on project execution and standards
• Represent the firm at project meetings with clients, consultants, and stakeholders

Key Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience working as a Designer on a professional engineering project team, under the direct or indirect supervision of a licensed professional engineer
• 4-year Engineering degree
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Highly organized, composed under pressure, and able to manage multiple projects against strict deadlines
• Keen eye for detail
