Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for new, rehabilitated, and replacement bridge and transportation structures
- Prepare engineering calculations, design plans, technical reports, specifications, and project documentation
- Develop structural models and perform analysis using bridge design software including LEAP Bridge, LARSA, MIDAS, CSiBridge, STAAD, or similar programs
- Assist with bridge load ratings and structural evaluations
- Coordinate design activities, project requirements, schedules, and deliverables
- Collaborate with roadway, geotechnical, hydraulic, environmental, and construction engineering teams
- Apply AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, NJDOT standards, and applicable agency requirements
- Participate in field visits, bridge inspections, and data collection
- Review design documents for accuracy, quality, and project compliance
- Support senior engineers with engineering solutions and technical activities
- Assist with proposal preparation, cost estimating, and business development activities as needed
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred
- 5 to 8 years of progressive bridge design and structural engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Experience with LEAP Bridge, LARSA, MIDAS, CSiBridge, STAAD, or equivalent bridge analysis and design software preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
- Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and NJDOT design procedures preferred
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and technical communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
- Demonstrated interest in continued professional growth and development
