Mechanical Designer

AGILE’s Client is seeking a Mechanical Designer to support Building Systems design across a diverse portfolio of projects. This opportunity provides hands-on involvement in HVAC system design, load calculations, equipment selection, and coordinated MEP documentation while working with experienced engineering professionals and multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage transportation engineering projects from planning through final design and construction documentation.
  • Lead the design of highways, local roadways, interchanges, complete streets, multi-modal transportation facilities, and multi-use pathways.
  • Oversee drainage systems, stormwater management, utility relocations, and PS&E package preparation.
  • Coordinate project budgets, schedules, technical quality, and overall project delivery.
  • Collaborate with clients, agency reviewers, utility companies, subconsultants, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Prepare technical reports, memorandums, engineering documents, and project correspondence.
  • Mentor engineering staff while supporting continued growth of the transportation practice.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Active California Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
  • 12+ years of transportation engineering design and project management experience.
  • Strong background in highway, roadway, interchange, and transportation infrastructure design.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation/OpenRoads.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Strong understanding of state and local transportation design standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports, memorandums, and engineering documentation.
  • Preferred Experience:
  • California transportation infrastructure projects.
  • State and local public agency coordination.
  • Complete Streets and multi-modal transportation design.
  • Stormwater management and utility coordination.
  • Multidisciplinary transportation project delivery.
