They are seeking a Lead Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer (or Engineer) to take charge of complex design initiatives, lead technical teams, and ensure best-in-class delivery from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full design and coordination of plumbing and fire protection systems (domestic water, sanitary, storm, natural gas, clean-agent, specialty suppression).
- Supervise and mentor project teams, delegating tasks and reviewing work for technical accuracy and code compliance.
- Perform load calculations, sizing, and system layouts; prepare schematics, specifications, and construction documents.
- Coordinate with architects, mechanical/electrical engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless system integration.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, conduct field surveys, and oversee construction administration.
- Serve as client-facing lead in meetings, ensuring projects meet deadlines, budgets, and high-quality standards.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (PE license strongly preferred).
- 6+ years of progressive plumbing and fire protection design experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
- Advanced knowledge of NFPA, NYC Building Codes, and applicable plumbing/fire protection standards.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; ability to manage BIM workflows.
- Proven ability to lead project teams, mentor junior designers, and manage multiple complex assignments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; polished client-facing presence.
