Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage HVAC design for a wide range of building types
- Oversee design, coordination & execution of mechanical systems to code/client standards
- Manage budgets, schedules, resources, and project delivery
- Provide technical expertise in HVAC design (load calcs, system sizing, equipment selection, controls, energy efficiency)
- Prepare drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Serve as the primary client contact throughout project lifecycle
- Coordinate designs with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration
- Conduct site visits for field verification, administration, and commissioning support
- Mentor and train junior engineers; provide leadership and oversight
- Contribute to proposals, bids, and business development efforts
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- PE License in NJ (required); LEED or sustainability certifications a plus
- 10+ years HVAC design experience in consulting engineering, with proven project management skills
- Advanced proficiency with HVAC design software (Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, EnergyPlus) and AutoCAD/Revit
- Familiarity with green building standards (LEED, WELL, BREEAM)
- Strong leadership, communication, and client management abilities
- PMP certification a plus
