They are seeking a Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer / Engineer for their Fort Lauderdale, FL office to design plumbing, piping, and fire protection systems for healthcare, hospitality, aviation, municipal, residential, and commercial projects using Revit and AutoCAD. Key Responsibilities

  • Design plumbing and piping systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, hospitality, residential, and specialty facilities
  • Develop domestic water, sanitary, storm, natural and propane gas, compressed air, and related piping systems
  • Design pressure booster systems, sanitary collection systems, grease waste systems, and grease traps
  • Support fire protection design, including sprinkler and standpipe systems and hydraulic calculations
  • Prepare construction documents, plans, details, and technical specifications in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Coordinate plumbing and fire protection systems with architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
  • Perform equipment and system selections, engineering calculations, and code-related design
  • Participate in field surveys, site visits, and investigation of existing conditions
  • Review shop drawings and support construction-phase questions, field reports, and punch lists
  • Contribute to value engineering and design alternatives focused on constructability, maintainability, and cost

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of plumbing and fire protection design experience in an MEP or A/E consulting environment
  • Strong proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Experience producing plumbing construction documents from design through construction administration
  • Knowledge of domestic water, sanitary, and gas system design
  • Familiarity with Florida Building Code and Florida plumbing and fire codes
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with other MEP disciplines and architects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
  • PE and EIT favored
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
