Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex transportation and infrastructure projects from planning and concept development through final design, permitting, bidding, and construction support
  • Manage bridge rehabilitation, bridge replacement, roadway, highway, transportation infrastructure, and related municipal improvement projects
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across bridge, roadway, traffic, geotechnical, environmental, water resources, and related engineering disciplines
  • Serve as a primary client contact for NJDOT, counties, municipalities, and other transportation agencies
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, quality control, and client expectations
  • Oversee engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, calculations, and project documentation
  • Provide technical leadership on transportation and structural engineering solutions and project delivery strategies
  • Coordinate design activities and resolve technical issues affecting project schedules and deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with applicable AASHTO, NJDOT, MUTCD, local agency, and related requirements
  • Conduct site visits, field investigations, inspections, and structural assessments as needed
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid level engineers
  • Participate in proposals, scope and fee preparation, client presentations, interviews, and business development initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and support continued practice growth

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • New Jersey PE preferred or ability to obtain through reciprocity
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive transportation, bridge, structural, or related infrastructure engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex transportation and/or bridge projects from design through construction
  • Experience with bridge rehabilitation, bridge replacement, roadway improvements, and transportation infrastructure projects preferred
  • Experience with structural and transportation design software such as LEAP Bridge, LARSA, MIDAS, CSiBridge, STAAD, or similar platforms preferred
  • Strong understanding of scope, schedule, budget, staffing, quality control, and risk management
  • Strong client communication and multidisciplinary team leadership skills
  • Experience with proposal development, client presentations, and business development preferred
  • Strong knowledge of NJDOT design standards, AASHTO requirements, and applicable transportation and structural engineering standards is highly desirable
