Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic project leadership for land development projects from concept through construction.
  • Lead multidisciplinary design teams responsible for site layout, grading, stormwater management, erosion control, utility design, and related engineering calculations and technical documentation.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, resources, quality, and overall project performance to ensure successful delivery.
  • Serve as a trusted client partner while building long-term relationships and delivering exceptional service throughout every phase of the project.
  • Coordinate permitting, project submittals, and regulatory approvals with local and state agencies.
  • Partner with department leadership to support business development initiatives, proposal preparation, marketing efforts, and strategic client pursuits.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to expand services, strengthen existing client relationships, and deliver innovative engineering solutions.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineering professionals while fostering a collaborative culture focused on technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred.
  • 6–10 years of experience in the design and management of land development and capital improvement projects.
  • North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) license required, or the ability to obtain North Carolina licensure within two months.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, stormwater modeling software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of permitting requirements, project submittals, and regulatory approval processes.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to provide technical leadership, mentor engineering staff, and successfully manage multidisciplinary project teams.
