Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of bridge and transportation structure projects from planning through construction support.
  • Prepare Plans, Specifications & Estimates (PS&E), engineering calculations, technical reports, exhibits, and quantity estimates.
  • Design bridges, retaining walls, culverts, sign structures, and other transportation-related infrastructure.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, utility relocations, permitting activities, and subconsultant efforts.
  • Monitor project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical quality throughout project delivery.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews and oversee compliance with internal quality standards.
  • Provide construction engineering support, field observations, and site visits as required.
  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical training and staff development.
  • Assist with proposal preparation, project pursuits, scope development, and fee estimates.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
  • California Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.
  • 10+ years of bridge and transportation structures engineering experience.
  • Strong background designing bridges, retaining walls, and transportation-related structures for Caltrans and local agencies.
  • Thorough understanding of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and Caltrans Bridge Design standards.
  • Experience with bridge analysis software such as CTBridge, CSiBridge, VBent, CTAbut, LPile, or similar structural analysis programs.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or related CADD software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing project delivery.
