Key Responsibilities
- Design energy-efficient HVAC and mechanical systems for healthcare and laboratory facilities
- Perform load calculations and energy modeling (eQUEST, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, ENERGY STAR)
- Develop and review mechanical and HVAC drawings in Revit, ensuring compliance with codes and standards
- Coordinate with facility owners, architects, and project teams to meet design requirements
- Conduct shop drawing reviews, construction administration, and field support
- Perform site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings, and support construction oversight
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and participate in training initiatives
- Assist project managers with proposal development, client management, and project execution
Key Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- 5+ years of progressive HVAC design experience for healthcare and/or laboratory facilities
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or actively pursuing licensure
- Strong knowledge of NFPA, building codes, and Joint Commission standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit and BIM experience preferred
- Familiarity with USGBC LEED standards a plus
- Strong technical writing, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
