Key Responsibilities

  • Design energy-efficient HVAC and mechanical systems for healthcare and laboratory facilities
  • Perform load calculations and energy modeling (eQUEST, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, ENERGY STAR)
  • Develop and review mechanical and HVAC drawings in Revit, ensuring compliance with codes and standards
  • Coordinate with facility owners, architects, and project teams to meet design requirements
  • Conduct shop drawing reviews, construction administration, and field support
  • Perform site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings, and support construction oversight
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers and participate in training initiatives
  • Assist project managers with proposal development, client management, and project execution

Key Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering (required)
  • 5+ years of progressive HVAC design experience for healthcare and/or laboratory facilities
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or actively pursuing licensure
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA, building codes, and Joint Commission standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit and BIM experience preferred
  • Familiarity with USGBC LEED standards a plus
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
