Key Responsibilities
- Design grid-connected power generation systems including single-line diagrams and interconnection applications
- Develop electrical equipment, materials, and installation specifications
- Perform calculations and reports (load flow, short circuit, relay coordination, arc flash, grounding, cable sizing)
- Layout electrical equipment, conduit, duct-bank, and cable systems
- Develop protection/control single-line diagrams, control schematics, and wiring/communication diagrams
- Review submittals, shop drawings, and field reports; support testing and commissioning activities
- Participate in site surveys, inspections, and respond to contractor inquiries
- Support proposal responses, project development, and strategic client relationship growth
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
- 5–10 years of progressive electrical engineering experience in power, distributed generation, or related fields
- Knowledge of grid interconnection for generation systems (engines, turbines, solar, battery storage)
- Experience designing HV/MV substations and specifying grid connection switchgear/systems
- Proficiency with electrical system modeling software (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, HOMER)
- Strong AutoCAD skills; Revit experience a plus
- Proven ability to manage multi-discipline engineering projects
- Excellent communication skills and technical documentation abilities
- Strong time management and ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
