Key Responsibilities
- Lead HVAC design and engineering for greenfield, retrofit, and live upgrade data center projects
- Define and coordinate mechanical system requirements with plumbing, fire protection, electrical, and controls teams
- Develop engineering standards and scalable design solutions tailored to 24/7 mission critical facilities
- Interface with clients, architects, and commissioning teams to align technical delivery with project goals
- Optimize system performance in collaboration with energy modeling teams, ensuring compliance with ASHRAE 90.1/90.4 and TC 9.9 standards
- Design and review systems including chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, heat pumps, generator ventilation, and fuel oil systems
- Participate in QA/QC, peer reviews, and value engineering exercises to elevate project quality
- Represent the firm at national conferences, industry panels, and technical workshops
- Travel to client sites across the U.S. as needed for design coordination and field verification
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical degree)
- 10+ years of experience in HVAC design, including work on mission critical or data center projects
- Proficient in Revit and BIM coordination workflows
- Strong knowledge of HVAC system design including chilled water, CRAC/CRAH, economizers, and standby generation support systems
- Familiarity with energy modeling and building controls systems
- PE license strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and client-facing project management skills
- Ability to lead cross-functional design teams and mentor junior staff
